The Museum answers thousands of enquiries every year. We respond to a diverse range of questions from interested members of the public and support academic research in all fields through our internationally renowned numismatic collection and archive.

Our Research and Information Team are available to answer quick questions and to support your research, and we would welcome the chance to assist you in accessing the collection. Please provide as much context as possible for your research enquiry, including images where your question relates to an item in your possession, to enable us to best assist you.

Visits to the Museum may also be arranged for specific independent research. The Museum is situated on the secure site of the Royal Mint in Llantrisant, and research visits are organised on a bespoke basis. Please ensure that you contact us to arrange your visit well in advance of your preferred dates, as access cannot be guaranteed without prior organisation.

Higher Education and Study Experience

The Museum regularly provides help and information to individuals and groups of students at a higher education level. We can offer short term work experience and volunteering positions and are happy to discuss access to the collection by arrangement.

We welcome the opportunity to work with postgraduate and research students, and we are committed to making our collection as accessible as possible to those with relevant research interests. The Museum also works with further and higher education institutions to provide hands-on heritage experience for groups of students, through organisations such as STEM Cymru.
