FAQs
Below you can find a list of our frequently asked questions. If you have a question you would like us to answer that isn’t here, please email amy.williams@royalmintmuseum.org.uk
How much does it cost to book a workshop?
Our decimalisation workshops are completely free of charge.
How do I book a workshop?
You can send an expression of interest in our decimalisation workshops by emailing our Education Manager, Amy Williams at amy.williams@royalmintmuseum.org.uk. A member of staff will then contact you to arrange your booking and discuss your requirements.
What platforms do your workshops support?
Our decimalisation workshops are usually delivered via Microsoft Teams however, should your institiution not support this software, then feel free to contact us and we can discuss alternative arrangements.
What if my students don't have access to the internet?
Our workshop includes a series of activities which are suitable to deliver offline. Contact our Education Manager for more details.
How do the sessions work?
The workshops involve a live online session with a member of the Museum team. Students will explore themes around the decimalisation publicity campaign. They will discover the work of the Decimal Currency Board and look at the way that information about the changeover was presented to different audiences. Informed by what they have learned, students will then be asked to create a plan for their own modern campaign taking into account new technological and social developments.
Is there a follow up session to look at the student's work?
There are no formal follow-up sessions available. Schools are invited to share their work on our social media channels using #Decimal50Schools. Students work can also be sent to us for inclusion in an online gallery celebrating our decimalisation project.
